hCows, stuff like cows. If I had a cow, I would undoubtedly name her Sally. She would sport a pretty bell 'round her neck and utter (no pun intended) 'moo' at unspecified times. Sally would reside in Tessa's room, and Tessa, you would be forced to resort to living in the laundry room with your cats.
This past weekend was pretty busy and happenin' (yeah, you know I'm cool). On Friday I guess you could say I had some down time; I played Halo 2 on Xbox Live for 4 hours and 18 minutes...if that can be considered any sort of accomplishment. Later that night I went to Chelsea's house with Jessa where we just sort of sat around being goofy for about two hours.
Saturday was eventful and exhausting; I participated in the community service aspect of my church's 30 Hour Famine, along with (almost) not eating. Chelsea accompanied me, along with the youth group director and her daughter (who is, I believe, a junior), to a soup kitchen. The woman running it was really quite crazy, and she had quite an attitude...kind of scary, in a way. She probably scared me a little bit more than the actual homeless people did. (I'm sorry, yes, they made me nervous; some of them were aggressive, but all of them were unstable looking in one way or another) We chopped fruit and vegetables for a very, very long time and made the largets bowl of broccoli that I have ever and will ever see in my life. Then we served green salad, fruit salad, noodles, sauce (chicken alfredo), vegetables, and bread to the homeless people. They kind of freaked me out; they were either obviously intoxicated or somehow mentally unstable looking. It made me nervous, and quite a few were aggressive. One of them like stopped, leaned on the counter, and said to me, "You know, you're very cute." It was really quite disturbing. There was one teenage girl who brought her dog...it was cute, but she was obviously stoned. It was kind of sad. One of the homeless guys wouldn't stop trying to clean the tables. It's kind of a funny thing...I don't know. There was one massive man who had almost no teeth and was obviously drunk...and he was rather intimidating. A few of them seemed more or less normal. I wonder.
After that we headed back to church where Chelsea and I embarked on a baking adventure. Over the course of rougly three hours we made 66 chocolate chip cookies, 2 MASSIVE (MASSIVE! like, the equivalent of 3 baking sheets combined-that's 6 total, I guess..120 brownies) brownies, and 4 cakes. We also got to work the awesome dishwasher that powerwashes everything in like 2 minutes. It was cool. We didn't get to eat any of it though, but I'm happy because it sold out on Sunday morning for the bake sale...all profits went to World Vision. Yayyy.
We wrapped up around 4 PM because Chelsea had to go to soccer practice; she didn't go on Friday because there was lightning that actually hit in the parking lot! So yeah, she went there and I went home to take a shower. (In case you were wondering) Then I called Jordan to ask if he was available that night, and he invited us (Chelsea and me) over there. I got to meet his friend Max, which was nice because I was curious to know who he was; Jordan mentions "his friend from Auburn" a lot. We played Halo. Haha, what did you expect? I did alright, but it's a tad difficult when playing with guys who probably play AT LEAST 3 hours on a daily basis...probably often 5 or 6. I don't know, but really, it's quite difficult. I keep saying quite. I was kind of in a tired/annoyed mood at the time, so I think I was being mean, but I'm not sure. I was also playing Halo, which doesn't exactly help make me seem like a nice person. I get kind of aggressive, haha. Jordan got a cockapoo named Lucy. She's a puppy and she's adorable.
On Sunday I woke up early again (no sleep this weekend!) and went with Chelsea's family on a little road trip and ferry, stopped to eat at Subway, and then hung around for a few hours at the soccer stadium. Chelsea's soccer team made it to the state championship game for GU-15 (girls under 15). They played hard against "Legacy," a team which had quite a few large, heavy, tank-like girls, and finished the game 0-0. They went into overtime (15 minute halves to make 30 minutes of overtime) and at one point it was quite funny; one of the large girls from Legacy was being marked by Chelsea, who is really quite tiny, but Chelsea managed to totally fight and win the ball from her once, which was awesome/funny/amusing. They worked hard at the beginning of the overtime period and got so, so close to the goal about three times, but then their defensive line had moved up a little too far I think and one of the Legacy girls, who was actually offside, got the ball and a breakaway because she was waiting behind the defense..illegally. She scored, it sucked, but Crossfire's goalkeeper did a spectacular job; she had about 25 saves in the game. (Crossfire is Chelsea's team) So Legacy had it 1-0 in overtime, and then they scored again...I think Crossfire kind of knew it was over with five minutes left. They played hard though, and they put up a good fight...but ultimately I think Legacy was and played as the better team, so they deserved the Cup more...looking at it from an unbiased perspective. It was disappointing, but Chelsea still walked away with a medal...and a cupcake...and a sweatshirt...and a necklace...and a temporary tattoo...etc. Second in state. Not too shabby, eh? I'm proud.
I got home late and started my homework at like 10 PM. I went to bed at 2 AM, and went to school. It's stressful; we have about 328409230432 projects at the same time. I hate it. Roar. Now I'm here, and Katie, you need, need, neeeeed to update.
